Joseph O’Connor Receives Industry Lifetime Achievement Award

New Orleans, LA—Eustis Insurance & Benefits announces that Vice President and Director, Joseph O’Connor, Jr., received the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of Louisiana’s (IIABL) highest honor, the Lou Daniel Award for lifetime achievement. O’Connor, who has been with Eustis since 1981, has over 30 years experience in the insurance business including his former position as Branch Underwriting Manager with Aetna and two years with Hanover Insurance Company.

O’Connor is known in the insurance industry as a technical expert. His many contributions to the industry include serving as Immediate Past President of IIABL as well as a past Chairman of the IIABL Technical Affairs Committee where he spent countless hours working on numerous insurance rating and insurance coverage forms issues with the Louisiana Department of Insurance. In his role as a member of the Technical Affairs Committee, he was one of the prime movers in formulating the strategy that saved the Workers’ Compensation marketplace in Louisiana in the 1980’s.  That strategy developed into the Louisiana Workers’ Compensation Company. He has also served as an instructor of CPCU and Risk Management classes for the New Orleans Insurance Institute for over 18 years.
