The Eustis Story
The Eustis story is a tribute to the truth that times may change but enduring values have a way of lasting.
Many years have passed since 1946 when Laurance Eustis founded the insurance company that continues to bear his name today, and a lot changes in 60-something years. In a world thats pretty different from the one in 1946, Eustis Insurance & Benefits continues to thrive today with the same continuing values that Mr. Eustis knew were so important at the beginning.
People who know Eustis talk first about integrity. Doing what you say you're going to do, and doing it the right way. Treating everyone with respect, courtesy and honesty and that includes employees, too, not just customers. If every business story has one sturdy cornerstone, at Eustis, the first brick would be that: integrity.
Another big value at Eustis is personal attention on the customer. Insurance isn't a commodity its a promise made by someone to another that when the worst happens, you'll have peace of mind and security in a stressful period. After Hurricane Katrina in 2005, Eustis folks set up emergency quarters in a trailer in Baton Rouge to help customers get their personal and business lives back on track. It was an anxious time for everyone. Company representatives reached out to literally thousands of others to answer questions, file claims and be of help. For the people at Eustis, that kind of personal attention even in a time of crisis and apprehension was just, well, second nature. It's in the company DNA. In fact, Eustis employees even filed claims for customers of their competitors because under the circumstances, it was just the right thing to do.
With values like integrity and personal attention at its core, Eustis grew decade after decade, eventually becoming the largest independently owned insurance agency in the region. If size is one measure of success, Eustis has indeed succeeded magnificently. But, the Eustis story isn't really about how big the company became, or how many offices or employees it has, or how many policies it writes every year. What the story is mainly about is people.
This is a company whose managers talk proudly about their employees who've spent nearly their whole careers at Eustis, contributing to a staff turnover rate as low as you'll see anywhere. Customers describe their relationships with Eustis representatives like they're close friends, not just business advisers. In the end, the central theme of the Eustis story is the value of great people to the organization, its mission and its success. This is Mr. Eustis' greatest legacy.
So thats our story. We invite you to meet some of our fine people here soon, and become part of it.
